Arthur Hayes: Bitcoin reserves could eventually become a 'powerful political weapon'
According to online reports, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes said in a blog on February 6,"In general, many misguided cryptocurrency people want the U.S. government to print dollars and buy bitcoins as part of the national reserve... I think these people are asking for the wrong thing." Hayes believes that potential bitcoin reserves will be just another financial asset that can be bought and sold, and establishing a national bitcoin or cryptocurrency reserve will turn any cryptocurrency held by the government into a "political weapon."
