Chatbot Amazon Q finally debuted, Amazon can win this AI battle?

Amazon Launches Enterprise-Oriented Chatbot "Amazon Q" to Help Businesses and Employees Make Better Use of Amazon Web Services (AWS)。

On the morning of November 28, local time, Amazon released an enterprise-oriented chatbot "Amazon Q" at the annual AWS re: Invent conference to help enterprises and employees make better use of Amazon Web Services (AWS) services.。

Before OpenAI's ChatGPT, after Google's Bard and Microsoft's Copilots, Amazon finally participated as an official contestant in the star-studded "chatbot contest."。

Adam Selipsky, CEO of AWS, said: "Amazon Q has the potential to be a work partner for millions of people.。"

Amazon Q's Giants Game: Security First

In the year since OpenAI released ChatGPT, companies such as Google and Microsoft have been caught up in the frenzy of investing in artificial intelligence (AI) development and have launched their own chatbots.。But in the eyes of the public, Amazon has been slightly bleak。

Ambitious Amazon finally can't hold back, AWS is injecting generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) into more products, further competing with competitors, and responding to people's doubts with action。In September, Amazon announced that it would invest up to $4 billion in Anthropoic, a competitor to OpenAI, to develop advanced computing chips.。

With the launch of Amazon Q, Selipsky highlighted the controversial security and privacy issues of chatbots.。

Amazon has long had a large number of enterprise users using the storage capabilities of its cloud servers, but many companies have banned the use of AI assistants in work scenarios for security and privacy reasons.。In response, Amazon has created a more secure and private Amazon Q than C-side chatbots to meet the most stringent enterprise needs.。

With this in mind, Amazon Q will help businesses of all sizes and industries securely use Gen AI。Unlike ChatGPT and Bard, it is not built on a specific AI model; instead, it connects multiple AI systems (including those of Amazon, Anthropoic, and Meta) through the Bedrock platform, thus avoiding the user's private data in the training of the underlying model。

Selipsky stressed that Amazon Q will only return information that users have permission to view, and administrators can restrict sensitive topics and let it filter out inappropriate questions and answers when necessary.。Also, if a user doesn't have permission to access certain data under other circumstances, they can't use Amazon Q to access that data。

Wonderful first look: preview version of Q has been open for free

Amazon Q is a new digital assistant powered by Gen AI that is specifically designed for work scenarios and can be customized according to the business of enterprise users, using data and expertise from corporate information repositories, code bases, and enterprise systems to converse, solve problems, generate content, and take action.。

Amazon Q, which is partially trained in AWS internal code and documentation for developers using the company's cloud, will also be added to Amazon's business intelligence software, as well as programs for call center workers and logistics managers.。

It is reported that the preview version of Amazon Q has been launched, and some functions are currently available free of charge.。After the preview period, the package cost for enterprise users is $20 per person per month。Version with additional features for developers and IT staff $25 per person per month。

Amazon Q

Amazon Q can be used in multiple areas of AWS and has a variety of features to suit the needs of enterprise users, including:

  • A natural language question-and-answer format that helps users understand the capabilities of AWS, investigate how AWS services work, and identify the best solution or service。Users can access Amazon Q through the Amazon Web Services Management Console's conversation interface, documentation pages, IDE, and Slack or other third-party chat applications.。
  • Further simplifies application development and maintenance for developers。In conjunction with Amazon's CodeWhisperer service, Amazon Q automatically drafts, writes code, and provides recommendations and changes that developers only need to review, approve, and deploy。In addition, Amazon Q has transcoding capabilities, and in supported IDEs (such as Amazon's CodeCatalyst), developers can test or apply upgrades to multiple software by simply opening the code to be converted.。
  • Integrate all content and provide customized services based on user business data, information and systems.。Once the information is available, Amazon Q uses intelligent analytics to personalize interactions with each user based on the organization's existing identities, roles, and permissions。Amazon Q also simplifies everyday tasks, accelerates decision-making, solves problems, and helps spark creativity and innovation at work。
  • Generate visual charts。Amazon QuickSight is a unified business intelligence (BI) service built for the cloud. With Amazon Q in QuickSight, users can re-customize dashboards or simplify decisions and extract key insights based on existing dashboards。In addition, Amazon Q in Amazon Connect improves the quality of service in the customer center, providing faster response and support for enterprise users, while reducing the time and cost of agent training and problem resolution。Amazon Q in the unreleased Amazon Supply Chain will facilitate communication between supply and demand, help users visualize the results of complex scenarios, and weigh the gains and losses of decisions.。

Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of data and artificial intelligence at AWS, said: "Gen AI has the potential to drive technological change and reshape people's behavior patterns.。Lowering the barriers to technology adoption and making complex and expensive technologies available to everyone is what AWS is all about。Amazon Q complements the Gen AI stack, opening up new possibilities for everyone。"
