ASIC bans former PwC partner from working for eight years
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has banned former PwC Australia partner Peter-John Collins from providing financial services for eight years.。
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has banned former PwC Australia partner Peter-John Collins from providing financial services or controlling entities engaged in financial services business for eight years.。
Mr. Collins served as an authorized representative of PwC Securities Limited, an Australian financial services licensee, from 1 March 2004 to 14 July 2006 and again from 9 December 2013 to 6 October 2022.。
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission found that Mr Collins disclosed confidential information he had obtained while working as a tax adviser to the Federal Treasury and the Australian Taxation Office.。As a result, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission believes that Mr Collins is not a fit and proper person to provide financial services and that it is in the public interest to prohibit him from working in the financial services industry.。
During the validity period of the prohibition, Mr. Collins shall not provide financial services, shall not control entities engaged in financial services business, and shall not perform any functions related to the conduct of financial services business.。
Mr Collins has the right to apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for review of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission's decision。
