Probis declares bankruptcy, AFS licence revoked
Richard Albarran, Brent Kijurina, Cameron Shaw and Aaron Dominish of Hall Chadwick have been appointed voluntary administrators of Probis。
ASIC, Australia's financial regulator, has suspended the Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence of Probis Financial Services Pty Ltd, which entered voluntary custody on 17 July 2023.。
Probis is a Sydney-based financial services provider licensed by ASIC (AFSL 338241) to issue over-the-counter derivative contracts (including margin foreign exchange and contracts for difference) to retail and wholesale clients.。The company is also authorized to act as a trustee for unregistered managed investment plans for wholesale customers only and as a responsible entity for AAWM, a registered managed investment plan for retail investors.。
One of the terms of the suspension is to require Probis to remain a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority and to establish arrangements to compensate retail customers until 30 October 2023.。
On July 17, 2023, Richard Albarran, Brent Kijurina, Cameron Shaw and Aaron Dominish of Hall Chadwick were appointed as voluntary administrators of Probis.。
Before the suspension, Probis' license allowed it to:
- Provide general advice and trade specific financial products
Establishing foreign exchange contracts and derivatives markets
Registered management investment plans for operating financial assets
Custody and depository services for retail and wholesale customers
Probis may apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for review of ASIC's decision。
