Ningde Times: Will build a large-scale energy system,"ten times" larger than the battery business

If U.S. President-elect Donald Trump opens the door, the Ningde era is even willing to invest and build factories in the United States.

On November 13, Zeng Yuqun, founder and chairman of Ningde Times, said that the future goal for Ningde Times is to reshape the world's largest battery manufacturer into a green energy supplier, reduce the manufacturing cost of electric vehicles, and actively develop and manage the business of "zero-carbon" power grids.

Zeng Yuqun said that the prospect of developing and managing a "zero-carbon" power grid is "ten times" greater than that of the battery manufacturing business. Ningde currently accounts for 37% of the global market share. He continued that the goal of Ningde era was to build an independent energy system large enough to power a large data center or even a city.

In another strategic move, Ningde Times is preparing to provide a ready-made electric vehicle platform that integrates long-life batteries into the vehicle chassis.Customers only need to design the interior and exterior to launch their own customized electric vehicles.Zeng Yuqun said the goal is to significantly reduce the development costs of electric vehicles and open the industry to new competitors.

In 2023, Ningde Times sold US$40 billion worth of electric vehicle batteries, up from US$33 billion the previous year.

On November 7, in an interview with the media, Zeng Yuqun also said that if U.S. President-elect Donald Trump opened the door, Ningde era would even be willing to invest and build factories in the United States.

As of today's close, Ningde Times's turnover reached 10 billion yuan, closing at 282 yuan/share, up 3.29%.
