CATL's Long-life Loader Battery Hits the Market, Forming a Combination Punch with the Shenxing PLUS
It is understood that there are already more than 10,000 electric loaders equipped with CATL batteries, and over 300 of these loaders have surpassed 20,000 hours of operation.
On April 28th, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) held the launch ceremony for its new generation of long-life batteries specifically designed for loaders in Longyan, Fujian, marking the first deployment of CATL's specialized long-life batteries for loaders.
It is understood that there are already more than 10,000 electric loaders equipped with CATL batteries, and over 300 of these loaders have surpassed 20,000 hours of operation. CATL's market share in the loader and construction machinery industry has reached over 90%.
In addition, the long-life battery system launched by China Longkun Machinery Co., Ltd. is a new generation product developed by CATL specifically for the loader market. It has significant improvements over the previous generation in terms of service life, energy density, and adaptability to harsh working conditions.
Specifically, this battery uses a new generation of long-life cells, with a system life increased by 60% compared to existing products; in terms of structure, it adopts an integrated battery box structure + new generation cells, with a 30% increase in electricity; in terms of strength, it uses a high-strength battery box structure design, with mechanical strength increased by 1.5 times, and a specially made anti-corrosion material process, suitable for various harsh working conditions.
CATL stated that as the global electrification enters the second half, deeply exploring and understanding the needs and pain points of customers in various industries, and fully leveraging its own advantages to develop professional products that are suitable, is the next key direction for CATL. Starting with the deployment of the specialized long-life battery for loaders, CATL will not only promote the commercial vehicle market into the "Era of Long-life Batteries" but also accelerate the pace of professional product development.
In the field of batteries, CATL has been very active recently. On April 25th, the global battery giant just officially released the Shenxing PLUS battery at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. According to the introduction, the Shenxing PLUS is the world's first battery that balances a super-long endurance of 1,000 km and a 4C ultra-fast charging characteristic, and it claims to achieve a range of up to 600 km with just 10 minutes of charging, which greatly reduces the time for electric vehicles to recharge.
The revolutionary aspect of the ultra-fast endurance of the Shenxing PLUS lies in the battery's energy density of up to 205 Wh/kg. Coupled with the ultra-high pressure density brought by particle-level matching technology and CATL's independently developed three-dimensional honeycomb material, it is used to enhance the energy density of the anode, control the volume expansion during charging and discharging, and the pioneering integrated shell design, effectively improving the space utilization rate, allowing the cell energy density to break through the limit.
In terms of charging rate, this battery has also created a miracle for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) material, being able to achieve a range of up to 600 km with just 10 minutes of charging. This is mainly due to its fast ion conductor coating technology, nano-coating, and fast ion ring, ultra-high cooling efficiency high-pressure box, and upgraded BMS core algorithm. The above technologies can ensure that the Shenxing PLUS battery minimizes the resistance of lithium ions during charging, accelerates energy transfer, and ensures that the battery can cool down quickly during high-current charging.
Gao Huan, the Chief Technology Officer of CATL's domestic passenger car business division, stated that the Shenxing PLUS battery is the world's first lithium iron phosphate battery with such a range. In addition, he also pointed out that currently, four car models are using the company's ultra-fast charging battery with a range of 700 km released last year, and this year, car companies will launch more than 50 models equipped with this type of battery.
