Between January 2016 and November 2021, Blackburn, Lancashire-based Flintham defrauded some 240 investors by persuading them to invest around £19 million in the investment schemes it operated by making false statements.。
Flintham made a range of fraudulent claims to investors, including how the scheme would work and the profits investors could make through the scheme.。He falsified documents to support some of his claims.。Sentencing will take place on April 26, 2024.。
Flintham has pleaded not guilty to another charge of engaging in regulated activity without authorization or exemption, contrary to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.。False representation fraud is a violation of section 1 of the Fraud Act 2006 and is punishable by a fine and / or up to 10 years' imprisonment。
