SFC Issues Restrictions to Interactive Securities and Futu Securities

The SFC has issued restraining notices to Futu Securities and Interactive Brokers Hong Kong Limited。

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued restriction notices to Fortis Securities International (Hong Kong) Limited and Tracker Securities Hong Kong Limited prohibiting them from processing or disposing of assets held in their client accounts, which are owned by board members of companies listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at the relevant time.

The former board member is suspected of violating his position and causing misconduct to the company.

The SFC has not investigated Futu or Interactive, both of which have cooperated with the SFC's investigation. Restriction notices do not affect them or their other customers.

The restriction notice prohibits these two brokers from processing or assisting, counseling or persuading another person to dispose of or process any assets in the above account without the prior written consent of the SFC until the amount stated in the notice. They are also required to notify the SFC upon receipt of any instructions relating to the above ban.

The SFC considers that the issuance of a restriction notice is necessary to protect the assets in these accounts to ensure that funds are available to meet any potential orders of the court in legal proceedings that the SFC may initiate, and that it is in the interest of the investing public and in the public interest.
