Indian government official: India re-examines cryptocurrency stance due to global changes "

Online reports, Reuters reported that India is re-examining its stance on cryptocurrencies due to changes in other countries 'attitudes towards this virtual asset. A senior Indian government official told Reuters on Sunday that the review could further delay the release of a cryptocurrency discussion document originally scheduled for September 2024. Ajay Seth, Secretary of Economic Affairs of India, said in an interview: "More than one or two jurisdictions have changed their stance on the use, acceptance and importance of cryptocurrencies. Against this trend, we are re-examining this discussion document." Seth also pointed out that since such assets are "not subject to national borders," India's position cannot be unilateral.
