OpenAI's revenue is expected to reach $3.4 billion this year, doubling from last year.

According to insiders, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated at an employee conference that based on performance over the past six months, the company is expected to achieve revenue of $3.4 billion this year.

With the support of AI products and services such as ChatGPT, artificial intelligence startup OpenAI is expected to double its revenue this year.

According to insiders, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated at an employee conference that based on performance over the past six months, the company is expected to achieve revenue of $3.4 billion this year.

At last week's staff meeting, Altman stated that the majority of this year's revenue (approximately $3.2 billion) is expected to come from OpenAI products and services, including subscription fees for ChatGPT and model access fees charged to software developers through application programming interfaces (APIs).

As for the remaining $200 million, Altman pointed out at the meeting that OpenAI is expected to create additional revenue by partnering with Microsoft Azure to provide AI model access services.

In addition, media reports indicate that OpenAI's revenue reached $1.6 billion in 2023. The internally expected revenue of $3.4 billion signifies that the company will double its revenue this year. In 2022, OpenAI's annual revenue was only $28 million. This shows how OpenAI can leverage large models to create significant commercialization opportunities, thereby achieving exponential revenue growth.

OpenAI has become a driving force for global AI development, thanks to the widespread adoption of ChatGPT worldwide, which has sparked a wave of generative AI. Earlier this year, OpenAI's latest valuation in employee stock sales was approximately $86 billion.

In recent months, OpenAI has been striving to increase the revenue of its AI products by providing services to corporate customers. At the end of last month, OpenAI announced that it had started training a more powerful AI model, which would help it maintain its leading position over competitors and attract more users and businesses.

Recently, OpenAI appointed Sarah Friar, former CEO of Nexttool Holdings Inc., as the CFO of OpenAI. The addition of Friar is expected to further enhance OpenAI's financial management capabilities, providing strong support for the company's future growth and expansion.
