Analysts are optimistic about market opportunities

First Solar's stock price rose 40.1% last week, mainly due to positive reports from analysts and market excitement about the company's opportunities in the wave of artificial intelligence. In addition, China's major solar regulatory agencies also support relaxing the price pressure caused by fierce competition, which further drives up stock prices.

Changes in Chinese Policies and Analysts Raising Target Prices

First Solar's stock price has reached a new high in ten years, as China's major solar regulatory authorities encourage suppliers to avoid price wars. In addition, Analysts from UBS, Piper Sandler, and JPMorgan Chase have significantly raised the target price of First Solar.

UBS has raised its one-year target price for First Solar's stock from $252 per share to $270, and expects the company's annual earnings per share to rise from $7.74 last year to $36.74 in 2027. JPMorgan analysts have also raised the target price from $240 per share to $262, while Piper Sandler has raised the target price from $195 per share to $219 per share due to an optimistic outlook on the average selling price.

Future outlook and company financial situation

First Solar currently has a market value of approximately $29.6 billion, valued at approximately 6.6 times this year's expected sales and 20 times expected revenue. The company's revenue for the first quarter of this year was approximately 794 million US dollars, a decrease from 1.16 billion US dollars in the fourth quarter of last year, but an increase from 548.3 million US dollars in the first quarter of last year.

First Solar's business performance will continue to be influenced by macroeconomic background, changes in the energy industry, and regulatory environment. However, the company has long-term growth potential and the recent attention it has received as an AI concept stock has opened the door to sustained stock price increases in the short term.
