Chinese regulator exposes new Haver Raptor Hi4 crossover
The appearance of the new Haval Raptor Hi4 has been redesigned, and the powertrain is slightly more efficient。It's ready to go to market。
Chinese regulator (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) unveiled the new Haval Raptor Hi4 plug-in hybrid SUV。The car has applied for a sales license in China。It has a redesigned appearance and lower fuel consumption rate。Redesigned model aims to boost demand for Raptor as sales disappoint。
- 广告 -Haval Raptor Hi4 entered the Chinese market at the end of 2023 as Great Wall Motor's response to the growth trend of plug-in hybrid vehicles。In April 2024, Haval introduced a new variant of Raptor (see specifications)。However, in the first seven months of 2024, the model sold less than 2.40,000 vehicles。This is a very low number。Now, Great Wall Motors is gaining momentum. Haval Raptor Hi4 facelift
The new Haval Raptor Hi4 uses a new design language, and the headlights have been changed from round to rectangular。It has a larger black grille at the front with chrome elements。At the back, it has a swing-out tailgate with a spare tire。Previously, Great Wall Motors had applied for a gasoline-powered Raptor with the same styling。
- 广告 -The body size of the Haval Raptor Hi4 is 4680 / 1950 / 1822 mm, and the wheelbase is 2738 mm。Body length reaches 4800 mm when spare tire is installed。Thanks to the short bumper and block body shape, the approach angle and departure angle of Raptor Hi4 are 24 degrees and 30 degrees respectively, respecting actively。It also offers three wheel options: 265 / 60 R18, 245 / 55 R19 and 255 / 60 R19。The curb weight is 2055-2135 kg, depending on the model。
New Haval Raptor Hi4 Powertrain Details
Haval Raptor Hi4 is equipped with the new PHEV powertrain。It includes a 1.5-liter GW5B15M turbocharged gasoline engine with a peak power of 113 kW (152 hp)。It's not a new engine。The third-generation Haval H6 and Haval Cool Dog (Haval H3) also use the same ICE power。The current version of Haval Raptor Hi4 uses GW4B15E ICE with a power of 123 kilowatts (165 horsepower)。Therefore, the new version has less power。No information about the motor。SVOLT offers three LFP battery options, similar to the current version:

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Raptor Hi4 has a fuel consumption of 1.13L / 100km installed。The fuel consumption of cash models is 1.15L / 100km。This means that the efficiency of the new Raptor has become slightly higher.。Great Wall seems to want an alternative to BYD's much-hyped fifth-generation DM powertrain。
