Xiaomi SU7 cannot be OTA due to changing the light, and the owner is worried about water entering the trunk

Some Xiaomi SU7 users have OTA issues after replacing parts。Others worry the trunk will fill with water。

The Xiaomi SU7 has undoubtedly caused a stir in China, but many drivers attracted by the car are buying an electric car for the first time, and even many are not particularly experienced drivers。This may be the root cause of many car accidents。However, the SU7 also has new problems (see specifications), some of which are almost certainly caused by the type of buyers the car attracts。The latest headlines of the car are the fear that the trunk will be flooded and the OTA will not work due to the replacement of car parts。

Recently, a number of owners have reported problems with OTA and reported upgrade errors.。This happens when the owner replaces upgradeable parts such as headlights with non-Xiaomi parts。All such parts have security keys for authentication management。During OTA, the keys are verified and cannot be upgraded if there is a mismatch between the identity keys。According to the official introduction of millet, if you reinstall the original parts, you can completely install the upgrade。

The latest Xiaomi OTA is HyperOS 1.2.0 system, as part of which, has provided lane-level navigation on highways and urban expressways。For eligible drivers, this includes Urban NOA (Autopilot Navigation)。This requires a car equipped with Xiaomi Pilot Max intelligent driving system。Both SU7 Pro and SU7 Max versions have the necessary hardware。The driver also needs to have 1000 kilometers of safe intelligent driving accumulation。

Although car modification may not be new, concerns about the trunk indicate that many Xiaomi owners are still new to car ownership。Xiaomi SU7 has one of the largest trunk spaces in an electric car, with a capacity of 105 liters, surpassing the 89 liters of Tesla Model S and 84 liters of Porsche Taycan。However, the owners seem to be worried that when it rains, the trunk will enter the water!

In order to dispel these concerns, Xiaomi responded that there is a sealing strip in the front truck of the SU7. Under normal use, the largest space in the domestic market will not enter water.。However, if the liquid is accidentally splashed into the space, there are two small rubber plugs in the trunk on the left and right sides of the front, which can be removed to drain the liquid。Any remaining liquid can then be wiped dry with a cloth。

编者注:

Xiaomi seems intent on locking customers in an ecosystem。It's hard to say if this is bigger than other producers。Of course, as cars become more and more complex in terms of computing power, it is possible to restrict owners from making changes to their cars。
