CONSOB orders shutdown of six unauthorised investment websites
Italy's Companies and Exchange Commission (CONSOB) has ordered the blocking of six new websites that offer financial services illegally.
The Italian company and the Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB) have ordered the closure of six new websites illegally providing financial services.
In issuing the order, the authority utilized the powers granted by the "Decreto crescita" ("Growth Decree"; Law No. 58 of June 28, 2019, Article 36, paragraph 2) According to this decree, Consob can order internet service providers to block access from Italy to websites that offer financial services without proper authorization.
The websites targeted by Consob's latest order include:
- "Mainrow" (website https: / / momentumltd.io and related pages https: / / client.momentumltd.io and https: / / webtrader.momentumltd.io);
- "Sgbfinancesa.io "(website https: / / sgbfinancialsaltd.cm and related pages https: / / client.sgbfinancialsaltd.cm and https: / / webtrader.sgbfinancialsaltd.cm);
- "Fiducia Capital FX" (website www.fiduciacapitalfx.com and page https: / / client.fiduciacapitalfx.com);
- "Immediate Eurax 24" (websites www.immediateeurax.net and www.immediateeurax24.com);

Since July 2019, when Consob gained the authority to order the closure of websites of fraudulent financial intermediaries, the number of closed websites has increased to 1053.
Internet service providers operating in Italy are still in the process of closing these websites. Due to technical reasons, the implementation of the blockade may take several days.
Consob urges investors to be vigilant, stressing that making wise investment choices requires utmost effort and common-sense actions, which are crucial for safeguarding their savings. This includes checking beforehand whether the operators offering financial services on a website are authorized and whether websites offering financial products have published prospectuses.
