DNF mobile game performance is hot! Tencent again tops Chinese mobile game publishers revenue rankings in May

The classic IP adapted mobile game Dungeon&Fighter: the beginning was officially launched for public testing on May 21, and immediately monopolized the top two domestic iPhone and mobile game best-selling charts. This game is the legitimate mobile game of Dungeon&Fighter, developed by Neople and distributed by Tencent.

In the last 11 days of May, the revenue of the game in the domestic iOS market had exceeded the combined revenue of "Honor Of Kings" and "Game for Peace", resulting in a 12% increase in mobile revenue for Tencent Games in May. As of June 17th, this game has been consistently ranked first on the best-selling iPhone chart in China for 28 consecutive days, making it the hottest mobile game to start with in the past few years.

With continuous growth in revenue in the Japanese market, FirstFun's "Last War: Survival Game" saw an 8% month on month increase in revenue in May, ranking first on the overseas mobile game revenue list for three consecutive months. In May, it entered the top five global mobile game bestsellers, second only to "MONOPOLY GO!", "Honor Of Kings", "Royal Match", and "Roblox".

On May 37, the mobile game revenue of Interactive Entertainment increased by 11% month on month, ranking two places ahead to sixth on the list. This is due to the overall increase in revenue from its products such as Puzzle&Survival, Puzzle&Chaos: Frozen Castle, and Ant Legion: For The Swarm.

After successfully launching "Legend of Mushroom", Joy Net launched a hybrid casual shooting mobile game "Zombie.io: Potato Shooting" in the European and American markets at the end of April. Zombie.io topped the download charts for mobile games in multiple markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, upon its launch. At present, the game has a positive review rate of over 90% among mainstream players in Europe and America, with steady growth in internal purchase revenue, and is expected to become another popular mobile game under the publisher's umbrella.

Microfun, a publisher focused on merging mobile game tracks, saw a 9% month on month increase in revenue in May, once again setting a new record, advancing 1 place to 12th place. In addition to winning the global merged mobile game revenue chart for seven consecutive months, Microfun's monthly active users of merged mobile games have also maintained a rapid growth of over 10%, demonstrating strong revenue potential.

X. D. Network's May revenue increased by 146% compared to the previous month, advancing 11 places to 14th on the list. X. D. The rise in Network's ranking is mainly due to the adventure placement mobile game "GoGo Muffin". After landing in the Chinese market in January, the game was officially launched for public testing in the domestic market on May 15th. This game remained in the top ten best-selling iPhone mobile games in China in the second half of May, when multiple heavyweight new games were released.

Kuro Games' new RPG tour "Wuthering Waves" was launched on multiple platforms in the world on May 23, and immediately topped the mobile game download list in multiple markets in the United States, Japan and South Korea. In the Chinese market, it is second only to "Dungeon&Fighter: the beginning", becoming the most eye-catching anime original mobile game this year.

Sensor Tower audience insight data shows that 45% of players in the US and Japanese markets simultaneously play "Honkai: Star Rail". However, after the release of the 1.0 second half card pool on June 6th, Wuthering Waves saw its first peak in revenue, surpassing its performance in the first week of listing. Within three weeks of its launch, the game has received 9 million downloads on the global App Store and Google Play, generating over $50 million in revenue, with over 70% of its revenue coming from overseas markets.

On May 1st, the Chinese server of HYPERGRYPH's Arknights celebrated its fifth anniversary of launch, and then returned to the top three best-selling iPhone mobile games in China. HYPERGRYPH's revenue surged by 411% in May, surpassing the monthly revenue of its 2022 and 2023 anniversaries and returning to 23rd place on the list.

Shengchang Network's revenue in May increased by 79% month on month, ranking 25th on the revenue ranking of Chinese mobile game publishers for the first time. Since its launch in China in January, its game "Shooting Zombies - Zombie Wave" has steadily increased in active users and revenue, and in May, it remained the best-selling iPhone casual mobile game in China.

The card turn based mobile game "Journey to the West: Pen Drawing Journey to the West" officially went public in mid May. This game is based on the classic theme of Journey to the West and innovates, bringing players a new experience through Chinese anime style animation and post Journey to the West storyline, receiving over 90% praise. The revenue of publisher Changyou increased by 142% month on month in May, ranking 36th on the revenue list of Chinese mobile game publishers.

In addition to the games mentioned earlier, there were also outstanding performances in May such as "Teamfight Tactics" and "Naruto".

The Teamfight Tactics launched multiple mythical little heroes in May, and with the official return of "Twin Cities Legend" on May 30th, the monthly revenue increased by 16% compared to the previous month, making it the second month in terms of revenue since its launch, second only to January this year.

Naruto released a new version on May 16th. Rich content such as new ninjas, new fashion, new spirit beasts, and new storylines effectively drove game revenue, with a 54% month on month increase in May, the highest revenue month in the past 8 years.
