Geely today announced that the "Extreme Leap 02" coupe will be launched in 2024, and released official pictures of the production version。The electric car is codenamed "Venus," and its main selling point is a large number of ADAS and self-driving technology from Baidu.。
Geely Automobile is a new car manufacturer, established in March 2021。The company, formerly known as Jidu, is jointly owned by Chinese Internet search giant Baidu and automaker Geely.。Baidu is in charge and holds a majority stake of 55% in the company.。On August 9, the company was restructured to change its name to Extreme Vietnam.。Geely takes over, Baidu becomes minority shareholder。Geely now holds 65% of the shares and is responsible for production, while Baidu holds 35% of the shares and is responsible for software, ADAS and connectivity.。
As a competitor to Tesla Model 3, their first car, the Jigeyue 01 midsize SUV, was released at Roboday 2023 in October。It uses a lot of artificial intelligence technology, self-driving functions and voice-controlled parking functions provided by Baidu.。
The 02 is the second car of the extreme, based on the Jidu Robo-02 concept car unveiled at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show。It is based on Geely's SEA platform and is equipped with an intelligent driving system provided by Baidu. The system relies entirely on cameras. Electric vehicles do not have lidar。

The Polar 02 will most likely use the same power system as the Polar 01, so the RWD version will be equipped with 200 kW and 71.4 kWh LFP battery, AWD version will be equipped with 400 kW and 100 kWh NMC battery。
Baidu's ADAS system will obtain information from many sensors in Jiyue 02, including 4 3 million pixel cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars and 5 millimeter wave radars。Two Nvidia Orin-X chips power them。
Jiyue 02 will be put on the market in mid - 2024。The car will be assembled at Zeekr's factory in Ningbo。
