The cumulative delivery of Xiaomi SU7 has exceeded 20,000 units after the delivery volume exceeded 10,000 units in June.
On June 28, renowned automotive blogger Sun Shaojun revealed that Xiaomi SU7's monthly deliveries have surpassed 10,000 units, marking the first time since the car's launch.
Previously, Xiaomi SU7 had been plagued by production capacity issues, with continuous reports of declining sales. In response, Wang Hua, General Manager of Xiaomi Group's PR department, stated on Weibo that the number of locked orders is steadily increasing daily. However, due to having only one model and a limited number of delivery centers, Xiaomi SU7 faces significant delivery pressure. Xiaomi Automotive began dual-shift production in June and is confident that this month's deliveries will exceed 10,000 units.
Subsequently, Xiaomi issued an open letter to prospective car owners and Xiaomi fans, announcing that Xiaomi SU7 is entering a new round of delivery acceleration, confirming that June's delivery target is 10,000 units. Additionally, to improve order and production matching efficiency, Xiaomi shortened the locked order hesitation period from 5 days to 3 days (72 hours) starting June 5. Xiaomi stated that this will help shorten the car delivery time for users and thanked all car owners for their support.
Moreover, in a Q1 investor call, Xiaomi Group's management reiterated their commitment to delivering 120,000 units of the Xiaomi SU7 series annually, with a target of 10,000 units in June. The current focus is on increasing production capacity. Management noted that the delivery wait time for the Xiaomi SU7 series is approximately 30 weeks, and the Xiaomi automotive factory has already started dual-shift production this month.
The Xiaomi SU7 car was officially launched at the end of March this year and quickly became a hit, with 88,898 units sold within 24 hours. Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi SU7 delivered 7,058 units in April and 8,630 units in May. After surpassing 10,000 units in June, cumulative deliveries of Xiaomi SU7 have exceeded 20,000 units.
In the future, Xiaomi will continue to expand its sales and service network. According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi Automotive plans to expand its sales and service network to 219 sales stores covering 46 cities and 143 service centers covering 86 cities by the end of 2024, essentially covering all provinces and cities in mainland China. Regarding energy replenishment, Xiaomi is building Xiaomi Super Charging Stations using a 600kW liquid-cooled supercharging solution, with the first batch of planned cities being Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou.
Today, Xiaomi Group's Hong Kong stock price continued to fluctuate due to the recent sell-off by Xiaomi Group co-founder, vice chairman, and executive director Lin Bin. From June 4 to 6, 2024, Lin Bin sold 10 million shares of Xiaomi stock, cashing out approximately RMB 166.5 million.
On June 22, Lin Bin responded on his personal Weibo, stating that the proceeds from this sale would be donated to his alma mater, Sun Yat-sen University, with more charitable donations to follow. Lin Bin had committed in 2020 not to sell any shares for five years, but this commitment did not include shares held by his personal foundation.
At the time of writing, Xiaomi Group's Hong Kong stock was down 0.48%, trading at HKD 16.46.
