Vitalik called on Apple to reject the British government's backdoor request to withdraw from the market to maintain encryption security."

On February 7, Vitalik Buterin posted on social media saying that he would respect Apple more if Apple publicly promised to withdraw from the UK market without avoiding breaking encryption. He stressed that if Apple takes the move, he will purchase and use an additional Apple device (currently only owns AirPods). Earlier reports said the British government had asked Apple to create backdoors that would allow security agencies to access users 'encrypted iCloud backups around the world and prohibit Apple from notifying users that their data security was compromised. At the same time, the NSA, FBI and other agencies in the United States have recommended strengthening end-to-end encryption to protect network traffic, but the UK has not joined the initiative.
