Creating a Portfolio
CopyTrader: Copy Trading
CopyTrader is a copy trading service that has become a favourite of many traders around the world. With CopyTrader, you can copy the portfolios of professional traders, making it easy for even beginners to get started.
To access CopyTrader, you can click on the Discover menu with the magnifying glass icon; swipe the tab above to find CopyTrader.
However, only real accounts can use eToro's CopyTrader service. Therefore, you must have a real eToro account, complete the verification process and deposit at least €2,000.
In the CopyTrader menu, you can browse for professional traders that match your risk management or preferences. The names that appear are experienced traders with a high success rate and impressive returns, and you just need to match them to your profile.
On the CopyTrader page, investors are divided into several categories, including Trend Investors, Top Copyists, Market Performers, ETF Focused and Energy Investors.
You can see the investor's entire profile, with trading history statistics in the "Stats" section, and a summary of their performance over the years, the range of returns they have achieved, and a risk score in the "Overview" section. The lower the risk score, the less risky the strategy used.
You can also view their nationalities, biographies, trading tools, popular trades, similar traders, and related posts. Meanwhile, the "Portfolio" menu contains his open trades. Simply click the "Copy" button in the bottom right corner.
Smart portfolio
Smart Portfolios are innovative portfolios crafted by eToro analysts to provide an easy, diversified approach to long-term investing.
Designed around specific themes, each with its own unique strategy, these portfolios allow investors to capitalise on key market trends without paying portfolio management fees.
eToro portfolios, also known as smart portfolios, bundle together a selection of financial assets based on selected themes. These assets are carefully selected and regularly updated according to the portfolio's strategy, which you can view on the Statistics tab of each asset page.
Diversification is an important aspect of these portfolios, reducing risk by including assets from different sub-sectors, regions and asset classes. Through comprehensive research and analysis, eToro selects leading companies and assets globally with strong long-term growth potential based on current data.
Supported by cutting-edge technology and advanced data, eToro's smart portfolios are designed to adapt to changing market conditions. These portfolios are available to all levels of investors.
Each portfolio is managed by eToro's investment team and is carefully crafted taking into account factors such as balance, exposure, potential return and risk. Partner portfolios, managed by eToro partners, are also available.
eToro's portfolios consist of a variety of financial assets, each with a specific percentage of the total investment. With a minimum investment of $500, investors can be sure to have enough money to open all the positions they need to invest.
As with the CopyTrader service, you can also view an overview of the Smart Portfolio and statistics for consideration. In the Discover menu, look for the Smart Portfolios tab, which is located right next to CopyTrade. Once found, try clicking on one of the portfolios.
Follow the same procedure to review the risk profile, assets traded and level of return generated for your consideration. The Smart Portfolio feature enables traders to conveniently construct portfolios directly from their mobile phones.
