Internet reports that 14 members of the C15+ Legislative Council of Hong Kong met with Financial Secretary Paul Chan and other officials on the afternoon of February 6 to discuss the new budget. Among them, Legislative Council Member Wu Kit Chong put forward a total of 22 suggestions in five major areas including the development of the Web3 industry. In terms of support for the Web3 industry, Wu Jiezhuang suggested continuing the development direction of the 2023/24 Budget and proposed two key measures: First, invest HK$50 million to set up a seed fund and adopt a 1:1 ratio method to support well-known overseas companies and large-scale industry activities settled in Hong Kong; second, an additional HK$50 million was allocated to establish a dedicated Web3 investment matching fund.
